How does Virtual Softball Academy Video Analysis work?
You take your camcorder and video tape the side view of your athletes swing or pitch - then you upload it to our site. Our training professionals will do an analysis complete with voice over instruction and a compasrison to one of our models. After the analysis is complete - you can view it for one month on your personal VSA webpage that we create when you become a member.
Is there a Droid based app for VSA? No, at this time there is no Droid based app. With the variety of phones we are not comfortable with the quality of the playback. But there is a work around 1. Create a Free or Regular membership at www.virtualsoftballacademy.com 2. Take a video on your smart phone in horizontal (landscape) mode 3. Share the video usingthe video share option to your youtube account (if you do not have one contact us at support@virtualsoftballacademy.com and we will get you credentials) 4. Do I need a special kind of camcorder?
No, any standard digital camcorder will work.
Does the video have to be in a specific format?
No, if you can upload to our site we can use it.
Do I need to use a tripod?
It helps if you do not have a steady hand
What type of camcorder does VSA recommend?
You can use any consumer type current camcorder but the easiest method is a Flipvideo camera and using the share software you can email us your video! Get the newest model of the flip camera - Flip Ultra 3rd Generation (you can get it at Amazon.com) Steps to use the flip for the first time 1. Plug flip camera directly into computer (USB built in connector) 2. In windows XP select VIEW YOUR FLIP VIDEOS, click OK In windows Vista/Windows 7 Select OPEN FOLDER to view files. OPEN SET_FLIPSHARE 3. You can then click on video you want and save to your computer. (It saves in your video file by default) 4.
